Organization Event Types

Create your own event types to improve the tracking experience

Organization event types allow you to standardize the way events are displayed and used, regardless of who created them. Skrym collects events directly from you or from third-party systems such as transporters, checkout providers, and WMSs, and maps these events to your configured organization event types.

We provide a default set of event types and mappings, but you can also create your own event types and customize how external events are mapped.

What Are Organization Event Types?

Organization event types are custom event categories you can create in Skrym to enhance your tracking experience. Once defined, these custom types function like the standard Skrym event types. You can map events from any external system to these custom types, ensuring a unified and standardized view of all events.

Create an Organization Event Type

To create your own event types, simply visit the Skrym Icon With BackgroundOrganization Event Types page in Scope. From there, you can:

  • Create new event types
  • Edit existing ones
  • Map them to events from external systems

Event Type Mapping

Event type mapping is the process of linking events from a third-party system to either the standard Skrym event types or your custom organization event types. This ensures that all events are displayed in a consistent, customized manner.

Once you create an organization event type and map it to an external event, it will appear in the tracking view alongside the standard Skrym event types. These custom event types can also be integrated into the order journey configurations, allowing you to offer a more personalized and detailed tracking experience to your customers

Retrying to map an external event

Occasionally, external systems may send events without sufficient information for proper mapping. In such cases, Skrym will temporarily store the event and attempt to map it again once the necessary information becomes available. If the event is successfully mapped, it will appear in the tracking view and be used to evaluate the order journey. This process is automatic, requiring no further action on your part.
